Ralph O. McMahan, 85, of Asheville, passed away October 7, 2017. Ralph was born August 6, 1932 in Yancey County to the late Lowey and Sally McMahan. He served in the US Army and worked at the Pentagon driving a limo for former presidents and military staff. He retired from Square D. Company as an Engineer. Ralph was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Penland; and brother, Britten McMahan. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marlene D. McMahan; sons, Randall McMahan and Michael McMahan; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Swannanoa Free Will Baptist Church with a celebration of life service immediately following with Rev. Jack Ward and Rev. Bobby Shehan officiating. Burial will be in McMahan Family Cemetery in Pensacola, NC.
