Brevard – Betty Joe Wilson Edmonds, 80, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Sutton and Lillian Siddle Wilson and was the wife of the late James S. Edmonds. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Foster Rhyne, and her brother, Sidney Wilson. Mrs. Edmonds was a member of the Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church. She was a hospital volunteer, was active in garden clubs, and enjoyed golf. Surviving are brother, George W. Wilson and wife Ellen of Pisgah Forest, nieces, Susan Case of Pisgah Forest, Sandra Wilson of Pisgah Forest, Lisa Stephenson and husband Curtis of Henderson County, Kay Bradburn and husband Charlie of Huntsvillle, AL, and Mary “Sissy” Spradlin of Cocoa, FL, and Beverly Driesdach of Waxhaw, NC; nephew, Brigadier General USAF (Ret.) David K. “Bob” Edmonds and wife Ann of Fairfax Station, VA; sister-in-law; Jane Norton of Pisgah Forest; special friend, Peggy Jones of Wilmington, DE. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at the Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Keith Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow at Pisgah Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bread of Life, 248 S. Caldwell St., Brevard, NC 28712 or the Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church, 300 E. Main St., Brevard, NC 28712.
