Bobbie Sherrill Rimmer Brevard – Bobbie Sherrill Rimmer, 78, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on July 6, 2014. Born in Brevard, NC on July 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Robert Calvin Sherrill, Sr. and Grace Ramer Sherrill. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husbands, Boyce E. McCrary, Sr., and Frank D. Rimmer, and her brother, David Mitchell Sherrill. She enjoyed playing the piano, guitar, organ, trumpet and coronet, and was a talented, creative person, owning and operating “The Loft”, located in downtown Brevard. She self-published 2 books, “Pearls” and “Sherrill Family Treasures” the National NSDAR Library in Washington, DC and in the Transylvania County Library. Mrs. Rimmer worked as a dispatcher at the Transylvania Sheriff’s Department and she and her husband Frank ran COPE House in Brevard from 1976-1980. Surviving are her 4 children, Laura Diane Hodgkins, Boyce E. McCrary, Jr. “Eddie”, Sharon Grace Walker, and Kenneth Terrill McCrary; 2 sisters, Annie Jo Merrill and Martha Reed, 2 brothers, Robert C. Sherrill, Jr. and John Sherrill; 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the funeral home.
