Catherine Eubanks

Catherine Ledbetter Eubanks, 69, of Brevard passed away on Monday September 12, 2011. She was born January 2, 1942 in Brevard to the late Walter Webb Ledbetter and Marie Brown Ledbetter. She was an active member of the community, having participated in many local organizations including ABWA, Lions Club, and the Brevard High School Blue Devil Club, where she volunteered at the concession stand for many years. She also served as a volunteer with the Board of Elections in years past, as well as several groups that benefitted her children like Pisgah Forest Elementary PTO, Tarheel Cloggers and Brevard High School Band. She worked through the years at Ecusta, Newland Clinic, Brian Center, Ivy Hill, and most recently she retired from Wal-Mart where she worked for 15 years. She was a proud member of the Brevard High School class of 1960 and loved planning and attending reunions with her classmates. Her hobbies included square dancing, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, reading and Facebook. She was a very social, outgoing person who loved getting together with family and friends. She loved being a grandma. Survivors include one sister, Jane Ledbetter Powell, and husband Earl of Mills River; three children, John Walter Eubanks and wife Cindy of West Plains, MO; Theresa Eubanks Hutchins, and husband Toby of Pisgah Forest; and Casey Browning Eubanks of Pisgah Forest. Also surviving are two grandchildren Tanner Lane Hutchins and Tyler Luke Hutchins. Many very special cousins, nieces and nephews will also miss her greatly, as well as close friends she thought of as family. A visitation will be held Thursday September 15, 2011 at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church from 6-8 pm.
