Edith Chapman Anders Brevard – Edith Chapman Anders, 92, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at her residence. She was born on September 8, 1919 in Transylvania County to the late William John Chapman and Essie Morgan Chapman. She was also preceded in death by her husband J. C. Anders, son, Homer Jewel Powell, Jr., and a great-grandchild, Jordan Hodges. Mrs. Anders was of the Baptist faith and she was retired from Singer Corp. Surviving are her daughters, Mary A. Morgan of Brevard, Josephine P. Owen of Brevard, Virginia Rice and husband Donnie of Rosman, Joyce Stich of Brevard, and Lorena Patterson and husband Earl of Pickens, SC; sons, Lewis Powell of Horse Shoe, and Leonard Powell and wife Viola of Lake Toxaway; sisters, Addis Jones of Brevard and Gladys Galloway of Rosman; brothers, Roy Chapman and D. H. Chapman both of Rosman, and Allen Chapman of Brevard; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2012 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emory Owen and Rev. Bill Bruner officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Bottom Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
