Frank Gene Stanley, Sr. See Off Community – Frank Gene “Pap-Paw” Stanley, Sr. passed away on June 21, 2014. Born on January 3, 1944 in Erwin, TN, he was the son of the late Bob and Belle Hilmon Stanley. He was also preceded in death by his son, Gene, brothers, D. C. Stanley, Ed Stanley, Ronnie Stanley, sister, Mary Sue Stanley Durham. Mr. Stanley worked in electrical work for 40 years. He and his son worked their own business for 10 years. He retired in 2001. Mr. Stanley enjoyed his grandkids all through the years and he loved traveling through the Smokies. “We love him and will miss him so much. We will see him in Heaven and we’ll be together again on day.” Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Lois Maxine Corn Stanley; daughters, Cindy McElya and husband Eddie of Pisgah Forest, Crystal Stanley of Rosman, Karri Ward and husband Toby of Brevard, Kelli Stanley of Henderson County; daughter-in-law, Joan Stanley; grandchildren, Anthony Stanley and wife Danielle of Brevard, William Garber and Brianna Garber of Rosman, Scott Mahoney of Rosman, Katie Keenan and Jacob Norton of Henderson County, Austin McCall and Michael Ward of Brevard; great-grandchildren, Taylan and Kaylee Stanley of Brevard; step-grandchildren, Sandra, Sabrina, Steven, and Scott. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Whitson officiating. Burial will be in Dunn’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
