A woman well known and loved, Gertrude Galloway Queen of Brevard NC winged her way home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2019 surrounded by her family and friends. Gertrude was born on January 3, 1920 to the late Josiah and Ila Bowen Galloway. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Loranzie Queen and her three brothers, Tillman, Andrew and Walter. A wonderful example of Proverbs 31, Gertrude lived this life for almost 100 years. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church, yet her love for music and singing took her to many churches. In her ministry, her gifts were caregiving and feeding whoever came by. Survivors include five sisters, Inez, Ella, Betty, Lillian and Edith, and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes to her adopted family. The late Tony Petit and his two surviving sisters, Linda and Polly. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
