Henry Chapman Brevard, North Carolina Obituary

Henry Chapman

Henry Junior Chapman, 82 of Pisgah Forest went to meet his maker on Tuesday November 28th, 2017. Our lives are forever changed; our Henry brought smiles to the faces of everyone who knew him and some who didn’t. He usually had a joke to tell while he made his rounds to the Habitat for Humanity, Good Will and walking his dog, Trouble, in the Pisgah National Forest. He and wife Renate shared 56 years of marriage; he was a close friend and father to Richard and filled a loving space in the heart of Cindy, his daughter in law. He also leaves behind a brother, Charles Chapman of Fairview, NC. Henry attended and graduated from Tamassee DAR (Daughters of the American Republic), School in Tamassee, SC. He was drafted into the Army where he served two years and met Renate, who is originally from Germany. He returned home, to continue his employment with Olin where he retired with the same company, then Ecusta in 1998; Henry enjoyed every minute of his 19-year retirement. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Renate Chapman, son; Richard Chapman and wife Cynthia of Pisgah Forest and brother; Charles Edward Chapman and wife Lou of Fairview. Memorial services will be held on Thursday December 7th, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Brian Berg Lane Brevard, NC 28712. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be sent to: Transylvania Sharing House at PO Box 958 Brevard, NC 28712 828-884-2866 or donate@sharinghouse.org OR Bread of Life Soup Kitchen at 238 South Caldwell St., Brevard, NC 28712 828-877-3577 Online condolences may be left at www.moodyconnollyfuneralhome.com Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Crematory are caring for the family.
