Born in Jackson county, J.C lived most of his life in Transylvania County. He was preceded by his wife of 60 years, Martha Elizabeth Morgan, his three brothers and a sister.

Retired from Ecusta after 44 years, J.C was known as a hard worker and a great provider to his family. A long standing and faithful member of Enon Baptist, J.C loved his Lord and made it known to all, that he was ready to go meet Him. He was an attentive husband and a loving but firm father to his children. He was a generous man and to many who never knew, it was his hands that were doing the giving. He was said to be a great neighbor. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by and his five children, Phil and wife Margaret, Bill and his wife Sharon, Gary and wife Adinda, Mary Reynolds and husband Tony and Charlie and wife Beth and one brother, Earl Morgan and wife Alice from Klamath California. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Even when his health began to fail, he could still be frequently found on his mower cutting the grass. He was asked by one of his children what he believed a good day looks like? After a moment he said “If I was able, a good day to me would be a full day in the woods with a chainsaw cutting wood”. His children will say, "Dad, when you get to heaven, the good Lord’s got you a brand new Snapper lawn mower and a shiny new chainsaw.

To honor the life of J.C., funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, January 15, 2016 at Enon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12PM to 1:30PM. Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service directly after the service in the church cemetery.
