<p>Jeter Pritchard Jones, Jr., age 97 of Brevard, passed away on November 11, 2019.</p><p> Mr. Jones was born October 19, 1922 in Henderson County to the late Jeter Prichard and Blanche Holbert Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Louise Martin, Lillian Griffin, and Frances Cairnes. </p><p> He was a 1939 graduate of Flat Rock High School and served in the US Army Air Forces as a tailgunner in World War II. He established Martin Jones Sheet Metal Shop, which grew into Martin Jones Heating and Air Conditioning, and served Transylvania County and surrounding areas until 1989.</p><p> “Jay“ to friends and family, was an avid golfer and charter member of Glen Cannon Country Club. He grew the best tomatoes in Transylvania County and shared them generously. He also loved dogs and cats more than he would have wanted anyone to know and made a difference in the lives of hundreds of rescue dogs over the years.</p><p> He is survived by his wife of 68 years Barbara Faye McCall Jones, four children, Larry of Taylors, SC, Kevin of Shanghai, China, David of Brevard, and Holly of Brevard, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.</p><p> A graveside service will be held at 3 PM Friday, November 15, 2019 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.</p><p> In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his daughter’s animal rescue, Labor of Love, 280 N.
