Joseph Phillip Gill, Jr. Pisgah Forest – Joseph Phillip Gill, Jr., 68, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015. A native of Alexandria, VA, he served four years in the U. S. Navy and was a retired firefighter with twenty-five years of service with the Fairfax, VA, Fire Department. He attended Pisgah Forest Baptist Church and he enjoyed watching sports, working on his car, reading biographies, taking care of his yard and trips to the beach. Mr. Gill was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Phillip Gill, Sr. Surviving are his wife, Barbara B. Gill; his mother, Mildred L. Gill of Alexandria; daughter, Teresa Strobel of Greenville, AL; step-sons, James Henderson Bowden of Alexandria and Jason Edward Bowden of Colliers, VA; sisters, Brenda Hinkle of Purcellville, VA and Patricia Gill Street of Alexandria; grandchildren, Heather Strobel of Mtn. Ranch, CA and Hailee Strobel of Alexandria. The memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church with Rev. David Spray officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Handyman Fund of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church, 494 Hendersonville Hwy., Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.
