Joyce Kelley Obituary

Joyce Kelley, age 80, went to be with our Lord on August 8, 2019. She will be missed forever by her family. Joyce was born in Butler, Alabama on January 15, 1939 to William Austin and Gladys Kelley Busby. She attended Choctaw County High School and graduated at the young age of 17. A few short days after graduation she married Frank Kelley and they spent the next 20 years moving for his career in the Air Force and then more years with his career with Morrison’s Food Service. Joyce loved her husband, her three daughters and their husbands, her 4 grandchildren and her 6 great grandchildren. There was never a time that one of her kids, grandkids or great grandkids came to her house that she wasn’t overjoyed with their visit. Joyce and Frank recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Joyce was one of ten children born to her parents. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gladys Busby, her siblings, Sylvia Holt, Glenn Busby, James Busby, David Busby, and her son-in-law Russell Brigman. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank Kelley, her daughters Brenda Gantt and husband Roy of Brevard, NC; Patricia Green and husband Lamar of Waleska, GA and Tammy Brigman of Penrose, NC; her grandchildren Chuckie Harrison and wife Melissa, Kelley Kinsey and husband David, Branden Green and wife Katelin, and Jessica Brigman. As well as six great grandchildren, Skylar Harrison, Kyndall Harrison, Jaylen Kinsey, Anslie Harrison, Bryce Kinsey and Kennedy Green. She is survived by her siblings, Dialene Sullivan, Lorene Sullivan, Linda Messick, Kenneth Bubsy and Dean Busby. Joyce was an easy-going person unless you riled her up and then she was small but mighty. She loved her family, she loved to read and she loved to watch her Atlanta Braves. Regardless of whether it was a winning or loosing season, she watched every Braves game she could. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Hank Moffitt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
