Juanita Wells Hearn Brevard – Juanita Wells Hearn passed away in Brevard, NC on June 12, 2013. Mrs. Hearn was born on February 1, 1920 and was raised in Edneyville, NC. She attended Brevard Junior College and graduated with a BA degree from SMU (Southern Methodist University) in Dallas, TX. She was married to J. William Hearn, MD for 50 years. They lived an adventurous, interesting life, living in many different places, including the Panama Canal Zone. They loved to travel and to explore God’s world. After her husband’s death, she returned to the beloved mountains of her youth to live out the final chapter of her life. Mrs. Hearn is survived by her three children, John William Hearn, Helen Elizabeth Hearn Machock, and Hebe Diana Hearn Lutz, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was treasured by all who knew her as the sweetest, kindest and most genteel Southern lady they had ever known. She will be missed. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church, 249 E. Main St., Brevard, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church.
