Lula Wilson

Brevard – Lula Cassell Wilson, 92, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014. She was the daughter of the late John Coatsworth and Lela Hayes Cassell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Wilson; son, Melvin Wilson; brothers, Bruce, Thern, Bert, J.C. Jr., Carlos and Don Cassell; sisters, Yvonne and Linda Cassell. Lula was a member of Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She will be truly missed. Surviving are her son; Charles Thomas Wilson and wife Christine of Brevard; daughter, Sue Wilson Kirkman and husband Ronnie of Mount Airy; brother, Jim Cassell and wife Shirley of Brevard; sister, Ann Raxter of Brevard; sister in laws, Pauline Cassell, Dot Stiles Cassell and Dot Thomas Cassell; brother in law, Ross Wilson, grandchildren; Kimberly Kirkman Beeson and husband Troy, Andrew Kirkman, Brandon Wilson and wife Sara and Josh Wilson and wife Nikki and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 58 Cathey’s Creek Church Road, Brevard, NC 28712. Funeral Services will be held 2pm, Monday, July 7, 2014 at Cathey’s Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Allen Aiken and Pete Lee officiating. The family will receive friends at 1pm at the church.
