Nancy Capps

Nancy Lothery Capps, 64, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, January 3, 2015. She was born on September 5, 1950 in Brevard, NC, where she lived most of her life. She was a hairstylist at Bliss Salon in Brevard and did hair at the Beauty Salon for a number of years. For over 40 years, she made people beautiful, and for 64 years, she made the world beautiful by being in it. She loved to laugh and to make people laugh. Nancy really never met a stranger. Upon meeting her, you instantly liked her and felt like you knew her. She loved people and people loved her. She was also an avid Tar Heel Fan. Nancy was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Brevard where she served on several committees and taught numerous bible studies. She was a wonderful example of a strong Christian woman. She was also active in the community including serving as the Luminaria Chair for Transylvania County’s Relay for Life for a number of years. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Oscar Excell Lothery and Alma Elizabeth Price Lothery and one niece, Melissa Miller. Survivors include: her only child whom she loved more than anything, Tara Paige Capps, a brother, Hugh E. Lothery and wife Terry in San Antonio, Texas, a sister, Barbara Sue Lothery Miller and husband Maury in Prosperity, SC, nephews John Miller, Sean Lothery, and niece Elizabeth Miller McKissick. She is also survived many, many friends and her fur baby Bella. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2:00 at First Baptist Church in Brevard, NC. Relatives and friends will be received immediately following the service.
