Raymond Hoxit

Raymond "Ronnie" Hoxit, of the Williamson Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2014. He was born on February 20, 1948 in Transylvania County. He graduated from Rosman High School where he was an All-Conference quarterback, and was employed for several years by the Ecusta Corporation. Ronnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Lee Hoxit. He is survived by his parents, Raymond Glenn and Ella Mae Hoxit of Rosman; his wife, Joan Hoxit; and his brother, David Hoxit and wife, Linda of Lake Toxaway, along with a nephew, Jonathon Hoxit. Ronnie will be greatly missed by his children: Brian Hoxit and wife, Susan of Balsam Grove; Matthew Hoxit of England; Mikey Hoxit of Brevard; Alisha Walker of Rosman and step-daughter, Carolyn Osment. He was the beloved "Papa Dead-eye" to his grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Brennan, Ariana, Katelyn, Morgan, Jacqui, Camron, Rogan, Zytavias, Zola, Rhianna, Aaron, Myron, and two great-grandchildren. Ronnie will be remembered by all who knew him as a talented artist, avid deer hunter and maker of pickled corn. No public funeral services are planned.
