Sapphire - Robert Issac Dean, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Ft. Carson, Colorado, he was the son of the late Curtis Charles Dean and Virginia Morton Dean. Mr. Dean was a veteran of the U. S. Army, and was member and Past Master of Glenville Masonic Lodge #551. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Therese F. Dean; sons, Jerry Paul Dean and wife Rebekah of Brevard, and Robert Joseph Dean and wife Meg of Germany; daughter, Julie Ann Locke and husband Krafton of Horse Shoe; sisters, Connie Thompson and husband Jack of Dahlonega, GA, and Mary Krug of Wisconsin; brother, Jerry Curtis Dean and wife Amy of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Chloe, Peter, Anthony, Joel, and Ellie Grace Dean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Patrick Toole officiating. Burial will be in Davidson River Cemetery Extension with military graveside rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Veterans of Transylvania County. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565.
