Robert H. (Bob) Rogers Brevard – Robert H. (Bob) Rogers went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 9, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Humphrey and Josie Wiggins Rogers, sisters; Laura Heffner and Venice Gillespie, son; Johnny H. Rogers, infant son, David L. Rogers and great grandson, Michael S. Rogers. . Bob was a good husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by his family. He was born in Swain County, NC on October 2, 1915. He has lived in Transylvania County for the past 88 years and is a member of Middle Fork Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and construction manager and supervisor. He lived and worked on a farm after retirement until the age of 95. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years; Viola Cantrell Rogers, three sons; Boyce Rogers of Newport, TN, Darren H. and Ronald H. Rogers of Transylvania County, sister; Mary Ferrell of Belmont, NC, grandchildren; Tim, Jeff, Scott and John Rogers of Brevard, Julie Galloway of Rosman, Missie McCall of Hendersonville, Lisa Hyatt of Latta, SC, Christina Brooke Honeycutt and Tiffany Rogers of Brevard and Faith Rogers of Elberton, GA; 15 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Chappell officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 6pm - 8pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Old Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery.
