Thelma Devore

Rev. Thelma Pruitt Devore Pisgah Forest - Rev. Thelma Pruitt Devore, 80, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 08, 2010 at her residence. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Bob Pruitt and Agnes Murry Willis and was the wife of the late Carlee Devore. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cynthia Devore. Rev. Devore was a member of Forge Valley Baptist Church and attended Selica Church of God. She dearly loved her God, her family, her flowers and her garden. Surviving are her daughters, Mary Arnold and husband John of Penrose, and Sharon Morgan and husband Bill of Penrose; sons, Gary Devore, Sherman Devore and wife Kathy, and Carl Devore all of Pisgah Forest; sisters, Aretta Pressley of Brevard, Alma Merrill of Penrose, Betty Woodring of Rosman, and Margaret Burgess of Brevard; brothers, Bobby Pruitt and Albert Pruitt both of Lincolnton, NC; grandchildren, Tabitha Wiggins and husband Joe, John Arnold, Jr. and wife Shannon, Priscilla Riddle and husband Steve, Lisa Ogle and husband J. R., Shauna Devore, Chris McMinn, and Jeremy McMinn and wife Carey; 15 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Revs. Luther Meese and Berlis Powell officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
