William Edgar Burdette, Sr., 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at his residence.
Born in Hogansville, GA, he was the son of the late Albert Henry Burdette and Elva Bowen Burdette and was the husband of 56 years of the late Corrie Lee Burdette.
Mr. Burdette was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WW II. He was retired from E.I. DuPont, was a former member of the Brevard Elks Lodge, and was recognized as a 50 year member of the American Legion. He was an avid golfer.
Surviving are his sons, Ed Burdette and wife Debbi, and Mark Burdette all of Cedar Mtn.; daughter, Beth Carden and husband Billy of Cedar Mtn.; grandchildren, Jenni Pogue and husband Chris, Josh Burdette and wife Mandi, Blake and Ben Carden; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Ashton Pogue, and Ella Burdette; a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 5, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Oliver Skerrett officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
