Marsha Evelyn Owen McKinney, 79, of Lake Toxaway, passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on Friday, September 29th, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Katherine McCoy Owen. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” McKinney, grandchild, Christoper Tinsley II and two sisters, Joyce Owen and Linda Owen Morris. Marsha attended Tamassee DAR School and Winthrop College. She was retired from the US Postal Service. She was faithful member of Lake Toxaway Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family. She was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves and Duke Blue Devils. She enjoyed feeding and watching the wild birds in her yard and chasing away the squirrels except for the white one that had taken up residence. Our hearts are broken but we know she is in a much better place, surrounded by her loved ones that have gone on before her. She is survived by her loving daughters, Karen Powell of Rosman, Donna Sudano (David) of Beaumont, TX, Carla Fisher of Rosman, Tammy Warren (Sonny) of Lake Toxaway and Tricia Hoxit (Jimmy Fisher) of Brevard. Her grandchildren, Heather Watson (Joseph) of Murphy, Jacob Fisher of Sylva, Destine Griffith (Nick) of Vestavia Hills, AL, David Sudano II of New Orleans, LA, Sarah and Abby Warren of Lake Toxaway and Corey Hoxit of Mills River. Great-grandchildren, John Parker and Brady Watson of Murphy, Ethan and Zoe Griffith of Vestavia Hills, AL. Her sisters, Wanda Shelton of Lake Toxaway and Judy Smith of Donalds, SC. Her aunts, Carolyn Eubanks and Jessie Talley and uncle, David McCoy along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 1pm, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Lake Toxaway Baptist Church. The Reverend Harold Sitton will officiate.
