Jake Critz

Mr. Jake Gaither Critz passed away unexpectedly at his home, Sunday, July 14, 2019. He was born on March 21, 1981, in Concord at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital to parents, Bob and Judy Critz. Jake was an upbeat, likable person. He was an avid fisherman and at one time belonged to a cat fish club. In his youth, Jake played baseball for Dixie Youth and basketball for the Boys’ and Girls’ Club. He graduated from Concord High School where he played percussion in the band. He attended Central United Methodist Church in his early years and was a member of the Central Youth. He attended UNC-Charlotte and was employed at R&R Barbeque. Jake loved gardening and made a special garden for his wife Alisha, where they enjoyed spending time together. They also enjoyed attending Bible study with their pastor and his wife. In addition to his parents and wife Alisha, Jake leaves behind his children, Kyle, Mia, Kynsley, and Hayden; a brother, Carter Critz; sister-in-law, Hailey Scott; aunt and uncle, Judy and Guy Starnes; in-laws, Patty and Mark Honeycutt; ex-wife, Melanie; and various nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday from 2 until 4 PM at Gray Stone Pines, 5540 Rockwell Rd., Rockwell, NC. Donations may be made to The Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Cabarrus County, PO Box 1405, Concord, NC 28026, or to the West Cabarrus YMCA, 5325 Langford Dr., Concord, NC 28027, or to the Salvation Army, 216 Patterson Ave., Concord, NC 28025.
