William McLauchlin

Mr. William McLauchlin was born on November 3, 1949 in Fayetteville, NC to the late Connie and Ella McLauchlin. William better known to all who loved him as Winky lived his life to the fullest. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Winky loved family, he always said family was important. His wife, children, grandchildren and siblings were everything to him. He graduated from Anne Chestnut High School and went on to serve 25 years in the United States Armed Forces. After retirement, he owned and operated McLauchlin Trucking. He presently served as president of the Anne Chesnutt Alumni Association which he was so proud of and worked diligently to fulfill his vision of establishing the Anne Chesnutt Historical Monument. Winky also served his church faithfully. He served on the Guest Ministry Staff, Finance Committee and Leader of the Grounds and Cemetery Ministry, he was faithful to his Pastor and Church until God called him home. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sherry McLauchlin, three children; Michael McDuffie(Shandrell) of Raleigh, NC, Chanetta Bryant(Jermaine) and Nicole Little(Stephen) of Fayetteville, NC. Siblings Chester (Priscilla), James Archie(Elaine), Allen(Norma), Letsie, Connie Jr(Delores), Thomas(Linda), grandchildren; Stephen II, Kylee, Avery, Michael David, Nicholas and his honorary grandchildren, Kameron and Niyah ,in-laws Homer and Joyce Riggans, sisters-in law, Charlene Riggans, Sheila Garvin, Loretta McDaniel (Gary). A host of niece and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends all that shared in his life.
