James David Taylor, 65, of Sylva, NC, died Friday, December 28, 2007. Born in Gastonia, NC, he was the son of the late John W. Taylor and Lillie Mae Giles Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Thomas Jacobs. James was a U.S. Navy veteran; a member of the Oasis Temple of Charlotte, a member of the Scottish Rite, York Rite, Junaluskee Lodge No. 145 and the Smoky Mountain Shrine. He was Manager of Direct/Express Mart service station from 1980 until 2002. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Cavender Taylor; one daughter, Sandra Lynn Rhinehart of Sylva; and two grandchildren, Angel Marie Rhinehart and Brandon William Rhinehart of Sylva.
