Joseph Alexander White, Jr, a servant of the most high God, went home to be with Jesus on October 19, 2017. He was born April 19, 1940 to the late Joseph A. White Sr. & Sadie Chandler White of Troutman, NC. He was a loving and caring husband for 54 years to his surviving wife, Helen Holden White. He was a cherished and loving father to six daughters, Vivian Shaye Wood and husband Jack, Cheryl Renee Southard and husband Steven, Rebecca Kay Green, Tammy Gail Drinnon and husband Tony, Teresa Ann Holland and husband Danny and Tamara Lynn Deal and husband Donald. He has 13 precious grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, William Madison Drinnon. He is also survived by one sibling, Martha White Eckerd and husband, Larry of Taylorsville, NC, one niece and two nephews. He was saved by the precious blood of Jesus and a minister of the gospel. He was a founding member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Franklin, NC and he treasured his church family until his passing. He served as pastor at area churches in Franklin, Bryson City and north Georgia throughout his ministry. He shared the love and grace of God during Saturday morning broadcasts, “The Children’s Bible Hour” and “The Shining Light” on 1050 WFSC for many years. He was a constant and faithful provider for his family and worked for 18 years at Caterpillar of Franklin before retiring. He enjoyed good Southern Gospel music by his favorite group, “The White Sisters” who just happens to be his daughters. He was loved and well cared for by Dr. Patti Wheeler and Nurse Gina during a period of declining health. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Macon Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 22nd, 3:00 pm at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverends Josh Helton, Howard Southard, and Ed Frampton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Holland, Jeremiah Holland, Cody Southard, Carey Deal, Daniel Wilson, Matthew Elliott, and Ethan Elliott. We miss you Dad, but we won’t say goodbye. We just say, “So long and we’ll see you on the other side of life in that beautiful place called heaven one day soon.” “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Christian School 278 Victory Church Rd.
