Josephine “Jodie” Waldroop Sanders, 91, of Franklin, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012. Born in Macon Co, she was the daughter of the late Byron G. Waldroop and Laura Green Waldroop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Sanders who died February 3, 2007 and four brothers and sisters, Ruth Waldroop, Hazel Penland, Hugh “Spud” Waldroop and Sammy Waldroop. Jodie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church and avid Nascar Racing fan. She is survived by two children, Jennifer Jackson and husband Scott and Joe Sanders and wife Dana both of Franklin; brother, Ed Waldroop and wife Thelma of Franklin; three grandchildren, Brooke Waldroop and husband Chris, Lauren Ashford and husband Bruce and Preston Sanders; five great grandchildren, Maddox, Maveric and Mace Waldroop and Riley and Anna Kate Ashford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 21st, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Dr. Bruce Ashford and Rev. Tommy Fouts will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Dennis Sanders, Johnny Waldroop, Byron McClure, Greg Chase, Todd Doolittle and Denton Higdon Ray Penland, Judy Chase, Llyona Cross, Sharron Miller and Sue Roberts will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Louisa Chapel UMC Building Fund, 470 Louisa Chapel Road, Franklin, NC 28734. Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
