Lucy Neal Campbell Evans, 100, of Franklin, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, September 7, 2019. Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Campbell and Emma Magnolia Fouts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Evans; daughter, Connie Mae Evans, son-in-law, Duel Carpenter; great granddaughter, Morgan Brooke Hedden; brothers, Leslie Campbell (Elizabeth), Leonard Campbell (Eunice), Lester Campbell (Lavada), Glenn Campbell (Pearl), John Campbell (Connie) and sister, Anna Lucille Campbell. Lucy was the oldest member of Iotla Baptist Church where she was active in all church activities. She was a true prayer warrior and her faith in God was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her daughter, Emma Lee Carpenter Lovett (Walt); her son, Charles Edward Evans (Teri); grandchildren, Kimberly Hedden (Barry), Valerie Norton (Steve), Christy Barnett (Jimmy), Dustin Evans (Christy); great grandchildren, Blake Hedden, Olivia Hedden, Lauren Norton, Callie Barnett, Ethan Graybeal and Cali Jordan; several nieces and nephews and caregiver, Sandra Shepherd. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, at Iotla Baptist Church. Rev. Brandon Breedlove, Rev. Steve Reeves, Rev. Judson Hall, Rev. Simeon Martin and Rev. Stacy Woods will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Iotla Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Dustin Evans, Barry Hedden, Blake Hedden, Steve Norton, Jimmy Barnett, and Joey Gibson. Deacons of Iotla Baptist Church, J.O.Y. Group, Sew-n-Sews and Senior Center Friends will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Memorial donations can be made to the Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1537 Iotla Church Road, Franklin, NC 28734. Macon Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
