William “Bill” Michael Houston, 74, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late R.L. Houston and Helen Mason Houston. Bill attended Western Carolina University and was an avid sports fan. He worked many years at Auto Parts and Equipment and retired from Andy Shaw Ford as Parts Manager. Bill was an active member of Iotla Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years, taught Sunday school and acted as director. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Tallent Houston; two sons, Ken Morgan (Jeanna) of Franklin and Mike Houston (Amanda) of Greenville, NC; one daughter, Melissa Wallace (Jeff) of Franklin; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; one niece and one nephew. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5th at Iotla Baptist Church. Rev. Brandon Breedlove, Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Simeon Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., prior to the service at Iotla Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Allen Demas, Mark Dove, David Pangle, Joey Gibson, Isaac Wallace, Tony Ledford, Steve Penland, Fred Goldsmith and Jacob Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bucky Asby, Mike Ramsey, John Campbell Sunday School Class and the deacons of Iotla Baptist Church.
