Where all of God's children are going to meet up there, in a city so bright and fair." Shaddiyah Shawntaé Weeks was born on April 11, 1983 in Orange, NJ to Jill Y. Weeks and Carl D. Hood. Shaddiyah departed this life at her home in Goldsboro, NC on November 2, 2018 to transcend to her heavenly home. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mary Lewis and Alexander Weeks, Sr. Shaddiyah was raised by her parents George William and Jill Yvonne Smith in Wayne County. She attended Goldsboro City Schools and was a graduate of Southern Wayne High School, class of 2002. Shaddiyah was a member of The Word Faith Center Church where she was an active Praise Team Leader and drummer. Shaddiyah loved to sing. She said that when she sang, it was like she was in a different world. It was evident in her worship. Shaddiyah overcame a lot of challenges in her life. In her victory, she proved to many that she could live on her own and be a responsible adult. She was a happy person. In the words of her mother, “she was a good girl.” Family was very important to her. She always wanted to make sure she knew who her family members were. Her sons were her love and legacy. She adored them with all her heart. Her main concern was their well-being and hoping they did well in school. She was always showing off new pictures every time she got them. She was grateful to her Uncle Alex and Aunt Regina for taking good care of her children. Shaddiyah leaves to cherish precious memories of her to her parents George and Jill Smith of Mt. Olive, NC, two sons, Ezekiyal and Octavious Weeks of Kyle, TX; three brothers, Elroy Campbell and Christopher Campbell (LaToya) of Orange, NJ, Trey Smith of Goldsboro, NC; two sisters, Nicole Campbell of Orange, NJ, Natasha Hood of Mt. Olive, NC; four uncles, Alexander Weeks Jr (Regina), Steven Weeks (Tiffany), John Hood Jr, Donald Hood; seven aunts, Deborah Exum (Elvin), Robin Andrews (Carl), Bobette Smith, Debbie Anthony (Timmie), Linda P. Floyd, Natalie McClinton; two great-aunts, Reaver Weeks of Columbia, SC, and Carolyn Forbes (Donald)of Hillside, N.J.; a special classmate Ms. Tangela Greenfield and host of other family members and friends. Services of Love & Compassionate Care have been entrusted to Serenity Memorial Funeral Home & Cremations, LLC.
