Joyce Teague, age 99, of Granite Falls went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at her residence. She was born August 21, 1919, daughter of the late David and Amanda Bowman Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Merrill Teague; two sons, Dewey Teague and Wayne Teague. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Merlene Hilton of Granite Falls and Ann Henderson of Greensboro; two grandsons, Kip Hilton (Alicia) of Granite Falls and Gary Propst Jr. of Costa Rica; four granddaughters, Amanda Henderson of Greensboro, Michelle Marlow of Myrtle Beach, Tracy Propst of Greensboro, Donna Propst of Hickory; five great-grandsons, Kolt Hilton of Granite Falls, Karson Hilton of Granite Falls, Koby Hilton of Granite Falls, Mason Marlow of Myrtle Beach and Gary Propst of Costa Rica; two great-granddaughters, Alexis Buchanan (Adam) of Hudson and Brittany Ferguson of Greensboro; two great-great granddaughters, Trinity Ferguson of Greensboro and Aurelia Buchanan of Hudson; one great-great grandson, Abel Buchanan of Hudson. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 21, 2019, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Mackie Funeral Home. The funeral will follow in the chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Hickory, NC. Pallbearers are Kip Hilton, Kolt Hilton, Karson Hilton, Koby Hilton, Adam Buchanan, and Gary Propst. Honorary pallbearers are Abel Buchanan and Mason Marlow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Caldwell County Hospice & Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645.
