John Boyd Adcock, 86, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017. He was born March 3, 1931 in Union County, NC son to the late Silas Alfred & Ada Melissa Broome Adcock. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. A private family graveside service will be held at Lakeland Memorial Park. Boyd is survived by his loving wife Barbara Jean Cox Adcock, three daughters; Gail Barnes of Waxhaw, Donna Adcock of Waxhaw, and Robin Metcalf, of Asheboro, sister Ellen Keziah of Monroe, two grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
