Authur Alley, Sr.

Mr. Authur David Alley, Sr. age 66 of Union Mills, NC passed away Friday April 9, 2010 at White Oak Manor of Rutherfordton, NC.A native of Rutherford County he was the son of the late Horace and Carrie Lena Abernathy Alley, Veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War and worked in the logging industry. He is survived by his life companion – Sherry Holland of Union Mills, one son Authur David Alley, Jr. of Union Mills, one stepson Jeremy Holland of Union Mills; one brother Rev. William “Bill” Alley of Ellenboro, NC; four sisters – Irene Robinson of Maiden, NC, Edna Miller of Portsmouth, VA, Grace Harris of Rutherfordton, NC and Judy Pruett of Spindale, NC; two grandchildren, three step grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive as well as a number of other family members.A celebration of life will be held 1 PM Monday April 12, 2010 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel in Rutherfordton, NC with Rev. William “Bill” Alley officiating. Military Honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
