Barbara Allen Shade, age 69, of Ellenboro, NC; wife of Perry Shade, passed away peacefully Thursday March 9, 2017 at Hospice of Rutherford County with her family by her side. Barbara was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late Bobby and Geneva Allen. She was a lifelong member of the Temple of Jesus of Lake Lure, NC and a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Barbara worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Kings Mountain School System and was also employed in the county industrial system at PPG Ind., Kemet Electronics and retired from Polygram of Grover, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Lee Allen. Cherishing 51 years of marriage is her husband Perry Shade of the home; cherishing her memory are her daughter Sherri Shade Sharpe and husband Ralph of Shelby, sons Perry Christopher Shade and fiancée Cheri Spurling of Ellenboro; Curtis Shade of Shelby; former daughter in law Sherry Head Shade of Los Angeles; four grandchildren Megan Shade and Lauren Shade of Miami, Fl., Jarrett Sharpe of Shelby, Christian Shade of Los Angeles. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday at Crowe’s Funeral Home in Rutherfordton. A celebration of the life of Barbara Shade will follow at 3 PM in the Chapel of Crowe’s Funeral Home with Elder C. Bruce Herring officiating.
