Bernice Dobbins

Bernice Gardo Dobbins, age 80, of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday, November 15 at Hospice House. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Christopher and Mary Powers Gardo. She was a retired owner/operator of Isothermal Motel and Restaurant and formally employed by MasterCraft were she worked in the design department. She is survived by her daughter, Cathey Dobbins of the home, niece Martha Campbell and husband Terry of Bostic; nephew William Leon Gardo II and wife Aresa of Hendersonville and nephew Jimmy Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Dobbins and son Christopher Dobbins. Funeral services will be held 7 PM Friday, November 18 at the Advent Lutheran Church in Spindale with Rev. Ron Fink and Rev. Jim Pyatt officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 6:45 prior to the service at the church.
