Bertha Bennett

Ellenboro-Mrs. Bertha Mae Norville Bennett, 90 of Bedford Creek Road in Ellenboro died on January 23, 2010 at Rutherford Hospital. She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late John Edmund and Ina Cowens Norville. She was the widow of Conway Bennett. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and a member of Harmon Street Baptist Church. She is survived by seven sons J.E. of Sandy Mush, Bruce, Timmy and Scott all of Ellenboro. Calvin, Teddy and David of the home in Ellenboro. Three daughters Martha Nan Tesseniar of Bostic, Diane Bennick of Gilkey and Patsy Boone of Mooresboro. Three sisters, Mary Willie Campbell of Statesville, Geneva Hutchins and Virle Wells both of Rutherfordton. 15 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM on Monday January 25, 2010 at Crowe’s Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Tuesday January 26, 2010 at 2 PM at Harmon Street Baptist Church in Forest City with Rev. Charlie Blackwell, Rev. Bobby Hedgpath and Rev. Brian Melton officiating. Mrs. Bennett will lie in state 30 mins prior to the service. Burial will be held in Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Cemetery.
