Mr. Billy Burgen Bailey age 76 of Baber Road Rutherfordton, NC went home to be with The Lord on Saturday August 9, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, NC he was a son of the late Ralph and Clara Summers Bailey, a former employee of Broyhill Furniture Company, member of Long Branch Baptist Church, Red Cross Volunteer, member of the American Legion and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Carol Bailey of the home, one daughter Angie Miller and husband Robbie of Harris, NC; one brother Kenneth Bailey and wife Karen of the Shiloh community, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren as well as a number of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife Jeanette Bailey, one brother Bobby Bailey and two sisters – Burean Cole and Carolyn Hobson. Funeral services will be held 6 PM Monday August 11, 2014 at Long Branch Road Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Ruppe and Rev. Donald Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 – 5:45 PM in the Fellowship Hall of Long Branch Road Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Long Branch Road Baptist Church.
