Brenda Metcalf

Brenda Metcalf used her 77 years in Spindale wisely making lifelong friends and spreading good will to nearly everyone she encountered. Her journey ended Wednesday January 3rd 2018 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Brenda was tough as nails and had a heart of gold. She was always active in her family and in her faith. I feel certain that she never met a stranger. Brenda was the glue that every family needs to keep it all together. So many moving parts in such a large family and she handled it with ease. It was like she was a born problem solver. Brenda is survived by her husband Jack Metcalf and by their daughters Karen Metcalf and Sherri Splawn. Brenda was preceded in death by their son Alan Metcalf who passed away in 2009. Brenda was survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren that she loved deeply. Brenda’s passing was sudden, but her impact with God will be everlasting. We will truly miss this Godly woman. The family will receive friends from 12-2 at Crestview Baptist Church 630 S Church St, Forest City, NC 28043 on Friday January 12th. Services will begin at 2:00PM at the Church. Burial is private.
