Lake Lure, NC Bruce Jackson Parton, Sr. age 76 passed away Thursday September 12, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Madison County NC he is a son of the late Oscar Livingston Parton and Hallie Jean Beeler Parton. Bruce enjoyed the outdoors and attending Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church. He retired from C-A Textiles after 25 years of employment. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years Linda Anderson Parton, five children Rose Moore (Gerald), Bruce Parton, Jr., Tina White (Joseph), Mary Kyne (Ozzie), Jean Atkins (Andy); 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 4 brothers and a number of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers. Memorial services will be held 2 PM Monday, September 16, 2019 at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church 2466 Cove Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Rev. Jamie Pascarella officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church building fund.
