Rutherfordton, NC Charles Ray Banning, "Vern", age 58 passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County he was a talented mechanic and a son of the Late Charlie Young Banning. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Jane Blake Banning, children - Jeremy Banning, Jennifer Banning, Ray Banning, Katie Higgins and her husband Scott, grandchildren - Conner Banning, Brayden Banning, Madelyn Banning, Liam Banning, Blaine Higgins, Ayanna Banning, Charlie Banning, Thomas Michales and Jordan Michales; one brother - David Banning, one sister - Anita Marlowe, and a number of other relatives and friends. The family will be gathering at Mr. Banning's home. In keeping with his wishes services will be private.
