Charles Edward Dugger, Sr., of Marion, NC, went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2013. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. followed immediately by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at New Manna Baptist Church in Marion, NC. After the funeral, burial service will be at Montford Cove Baptist Church cemetery at 4:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Crowe’s Mortuary in Rutherfordton, NC. Charles was born in Avery County, NC on December 29, 1950 to Edward and Margaret Pritchard Dugger. Charles was married to Gail Patton Dugger on January 1, 2000. Charles was employed by FEMA/Department of Homeland Security in Emergency Management and Recovery. Charles enjoyed spending time with family/friends and was actively involved in church. Charles is survived by his wife, Gail; 4 children, Charles Dugger, Jr., Sharlene Dugger Williams, David Dugger, Rebecca Dugger Spears; 3 step-daughters, Regina Byrd, Rhonda Morris and Katrinka Bailey; as well as 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Wounded Warriors Project or the American Legion.
