Charles Cuthill Wylie, 78, of Tryon, died Thursday, June 3, 2010. A native of Westchester, New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Ellen Carnohan Wyllie. Chuck was a retired foreman for the New York Telephone Company. He was a member of the Board of Tryon Crafts and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the NC Barbecue Festival held annually in Tryon. He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Wyllie of the home; son Douglas Wyllie and wife Penelope of San Francisco, CA; daughter Megan Pechonis and husband Phillip of England; sister Mary Burton of Forest VA; and five grandchildren, Finn Wyllie of San Francisco, CA, Max, Zachary, Kate, and Alexander Pechonis of England. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
