Charlie Banning
Charlie Young Banning, 74, of Rutherfordton, died April 10, 2016 at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Fred and Virginia Cole Banning. He was a greens superintendent for a golf course, was of the Baptist faith, and a US Army veteran. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Millie Jane Blake Banning of the home; sons, Charles Ray Banning and David Banning of Rutherfordton; daughter, Anita Marlow of Bostic; seven grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren and four great great grandchildren; sister Jean Keyser of Lancaster, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Jim, and Marshall Banning. At Charlie’s request, services will be private.
