Connie Bunch

Connie Cunningham Bunch, 56, of Briarwood Drive, Rutherfordton, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Hospice House after a brief but valiant fight with cancer. A native of Bristol, TN, Connie was born October 21, 1955 to the late Jimmy Cunninghan and Peggy Smith White. She was a long time Dental Assistant for Dr. Ed Tetrick. A devoted wife and mother, she was a tireless volunteer and fundraiser. Connie served as President of the Rutherfordton Elementary PTO and the RS Middle Knights and was currently a Band Mom and JROTC Mom at RS Central High School. Connie served on the Board of Directors of the Rutherford Hospital Foundation and was chairman of the Planned Giving Committee. She also served on several school advisory boards. Connie was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Mel Bunch of the home; one son, Will Bunch of the home; two sisters, Linda Davis and husband Jackie of Bristol, TN and Cathy Gould and husband Glenn of Inman, SC; stepfather Don White of Bristol, TN; step daughter Kelly Cannon and husband Pat; three step grandchildren and two beloved nephews. Memorial services will be held 4 PM Wednesday, January 18 at First United Methodist Church Rutherfordton with Dr. Jack Knoespel officiating, assisted by Rev. Dr. Ed Tetrick and Linda Edgerton. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary.
