David Lawrence Henderson, 59, of Rutherfordton, died Friday, February 24 at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Elbert Henderson and Gladys Metcalf Henderson. He was a graduate of RS Central High School and Appalachian State University. David was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, co-owner of Meridian Laboratory in Charlotte and a partner of Millennium Laboratory in Raleigh. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lynn Hoffman Henderson of the home; daughter Lauren Elizabeth Henderson of Charlotte; son William David Henderson of the home; brothers Jim Henderson and wife Lisa of Rutherfordton, Alan Henderson and wife Sherry of Rutherfordton, John Henderson of Forest City; a number of nieces, one nephew, and two great nieces. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Monday, February 27th at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Courtney and Dr. Jim Whitlow officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service in the Fellowship Center of the church.
