David Randall Nanney age 76 of Nanneytown Road Union Mills went home to be with The Lord on Tuesday August 12, 2014 while being cared for at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County NC he was a former employee of Stonecutter Mill, a member of Round Hill Baptist Church and a member of The Hillbilly Tractor Pullers. David was preceded in death by his parents David Jesse Nanney and Hettie Lane Nanney Church as well as a son Ricky William Nanney, step father Robert Church, and brothers Johnny and Ernest Nanney. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Louise Lewis Nanney of the home, one daughter Marie Young and husband Donald of Asheville, NC; one brother Raymond Nanney and wife Dianne; two sisters Mary Page Nanney and husband Lloyd and Faye Flynn and husband Hubert; grandchildren Don-Michael Young, Jeffery Nanney and Michael Church, three great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Friday August 15, 2014 at Round Hill Baptist Church with the family receiving friends from 2 – 3 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Round Hill Baptist Church, 6611 Hudlow Road, Union Mills, NC 28167. .
