David C. Trammel, age 86, husband of Ann Goode Trammel of 184 Mount Vernon Church Rd. Forest City, passed away Saturday at Oak Grove Health Care after an extended illness. David was a native of Rutherford County. He was the son of the late Edgar and Margie Lee Wright Trammel, a retired textile employee, served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. David was preceded in death by his brothers John and James and his sisters Hattie Baynard and Annie Haynes. In addition to his wife Ann, he leaves to cherish his memory a son Phillip Trammel and daughter in law Pam of Rutherfordton along with a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday August 7 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Dr. Scott Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
