Don Tessneer

Don Arthur Tessneer, 68, of Lake Lure, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he is the son of Arthur Amos and Verlan Dalton Tessneer. Don was a 1965 graduate of RS Central High School and was a graduate of Alverson-Draughton Business School. He retired from Tanner Companies after 42 years as a Senior Business Analyst. After retirement, Don loved spending time on his farm and restoring antique John Deere tractors. Don was also a member of Bill’s Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Joyce Culbreth Tessneer, and son, Don “Donnie” Arthur Tessneer II. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Durham and Ina Tessneer and maternal grandparents, Ray and Rachel Dalton. Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Bill’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terrell Dillingham, Rev. Gary Fairbanks and Mr. Billy Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bill’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1475 Bill's Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
