Doris Ross Martin, 87, of Forest City passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at her residence. She was a native of Rutherford County, a lifelong member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was the daughter of the late W.T. Ross and Josephine Lewis Ross. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Grayson Christopher Martin, Sons C. Shannon Martin and wife Brenda of Rock Hill SC, and Michael J. Martin and wife Dorma Lee of Salisbury NC, grandchildren Jeffrey Ross Martin and wife Christy, Kimberly Martin Bridges, and Brian Richard Martin and wife Natalie, great grandchildren Tyler Bridges, Garrett Bridges, and Braxton Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings Otto Ross, Broadus Ross, Lewis Ross, Louise Rollins, Pauline Carpenter, Alice Fite, and Lorene Thompson. A memorial Service will be at 2PM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church on Sunday, August 11, 2013 with Revs. Dr. Scott Courtney, Richard Bass and Jim Whitlow officiating.
