Dorothy Workman Obituary

Dorothy Mae Cox McAbee Workman, 94, of Mill Spring went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late Luther Cox and Molly Hudgin Cox. She worked as an assembler in the furniture industry. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Doris Ann Metcalf of Mill Spring, NC and stepchildren Tressie Bradey(Delano) Margie McAbee, Betty Kimmons, Mary Horne(Jacky), Edward Workman(Debbie) and Jerry Workman, plus 37 plus grandchildren, 75 plus great-grandchildren and 44 plus great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two husbands, Samuel McAbee and Leroy Workman, children Ervin McAbee, Jeannette Shelton, Gail Conard, Glenn McAbee, Teresa Mason Inez Blackwell, and Eileen Lofton. Funeral Services will be at 2PM on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Grassy Knob Baptist Church with Revs. Jerry Jackson , Lewis Jackson and Blain Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, PO Box 127, Landrum, SC 29356.
