Earl Harris

Earl Paulk Harris, 72, of Forest City, died Friday, March 4 at Mission St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville. A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Millard Harris Sr and Cora Funderburk Harris. He was a retired manager for General Fireproofing and of the Methodist faith. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Sisk “Libby” Harris; and two sisters Hellon Bagwell and Bobbie Vickers, both of Forest City. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Ruth Philbeck, Azallee Mosley, and Mattie Lou Bumgardner, and brothers Sonny Harris and Cecil Harris. Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 6 at 3 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Cal Sayles officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Adaville Baptist Church or the donor’s charity of choice.
